Beautiful and meaningful Ojos de Dios by second graders. We study the history of this traditional folk craft and each student chooses a person (or sometimes animal) to make the God's Eye in honor of. Color and texture of yarn is chosen with the particular person in mind, adding a lovely layer of abstraction and meaning to a craft already rich in history and symbolism. I love the organic nature lended by the natural sticks – each one is so individual!
